CONFESSIONAL -- I have grown up after World War II
to see human numbers expand from 1.5 billion to 8,
to see terrible poverty and inequality and
unimagined numbers of relatively secure and
consuming people of whom I am one. 'It' -- the
degradation of the biosphere is our generation's
